Last updated: November 16, 2023

Date of effect: November 16, 2023

Introduction

Welcome to Textify, an application dedicated to transcribing and summarizing voice messages. This privacy policy is designed to inform you about our practices concerning the collection, use, and disclosure of any information you might provide through our application.

Definitions

This Privacy Policy uses specific terms that require clarification:

1. Information Collected

By Us

We do not collect any personal data directly from you like a user account, email, or name. Our application transcribes and summarizes the voice data you input without retaining or storing it. We do not collect IP addresses; however, IP addresses may be collected by our third-party service providers as part of standard internet protocols.

By Third Parties

We use third-party services for voice transcription and summarization:

For details on how these third parties handle your data, refer to their respective privacy policies:

2. How We Use Your Information

Your voice data is used exclusively for the purpose of transcription or summarization. We do not store, retain, or sell your voice data, transcriptions, or IP addresses. Once the transcription or summarization is done, the data is discarded.

Textify does not use cookies or analytics services to collect non-personal information. Therefore, no additional data is gathered or processed when using our application.

3. Information Disclosure to Third Parties

Your voice data and IP address are shared with Apple's Siri, uguu.se, and RunPod (when using Textify+) for transcription and Microsoft Azure for summarization.

4. On-Device Transcription

We offer an on-device transcription feature, which processes voice messages locally without sending them to external services. By default, the app uses Apple's Siri service for this purpose.

5. Data Retention

Voice data is temporarily stored for a duration of 5 minutes on uguu.se for processing and is discarded afterward.

6. Data Security

All communications between the app and third-party services are secured using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption methods, ensuring your data's security during the transcription or summarization process.

7. Consent

Before using our app, you will be informed about the third-party services involved in processing your data and will need to provide consent by agreeing to this Privacy Policy. By using the app, you are providing this consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting apps@dimitristaufer.com. Given that we do not retain or store your Personal Information, no additional steps are required to erase your data.

8. Data Protection by Design

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Germany and the European Union. Textify is designed with your data protection in mind. Minimal personal data is collected and processed.

9. International Users

By using Textify, you understand and acknowledge that your Personal Information will be processed and stored in facilities in the United States and may be disclosed to service providers and affiliates in other jurisdictions. RunPod and uguu.se use appropriate safeguards for transferring Personal Information outside of the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK, complying with applicable data protection regulations. Further information can be found in their respective policies.

10. User Rights

As we do not collect or store any personal data, users do not have the traditional rights to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Nonetheless, you can withdraw your consent for data processing at any time as explained under the Consent section of this policy.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy occasionally. Your continued use post any modifications means you accept the updated policy.
